The new Pentastar V6 engine is rated at 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. These are impressive numbers for the baseline configuration. However, at AEM, we engineer our air intakes to outperform and part number 21-8316DS for the 2012 to 2013 Jeep Wrangler 3.6L lives up to that motto. The sealed airbox intake system design added outstanding gains from 4000 to 5500 RPM culminating in peak gains at an estimated 14 horsepower at 5,750 RPM and an additional 13 lb-ft of torque at 5,550 RPM. The increase in performance offered by AEM's 21-8316DS can prove useful in a variety of situations, whether it's merging onto a highway, towing a trailer, or off course rock climbing in your Jeep Wrangler.
Protected inside the sealed airbox of the AEM air intake system, the 21-2147D-HK is an oversized AEM Dryflow™ synthetic washable air filter for outstanding airflow, filtration, and performance while allowing easy oil-free cleaning. Incorporated into the airbox design is an AEM Filter Minder Gauge, which helps Wrangler owners easily determine whether or not it is time to clean their AEM Air Filter. AEM Dryflow Synthetic Air Filters for intake systems can go up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is necessary depending on driving conditions. Installation of AEM's Sealed Airbox Air Intake system for 2012 to 2013 Jeep Wrangler JK models with 3.6 liter engines is simple and straightforward. This cold air intake can be installed with common tools. Part number 21-8316DS fits in the engine compartment using OEM mounting points.
Other AEM cold air intakes for Jeep Wrangler models can be found on the Jeep Wrangler Cold Air Intakes page. |
