2012 and 2013 Toyota Tacoma with 4.0L V6 Engine Gains Horsepower with K&N Cold Air Intake System
Toyota Tacoma with K&N Cold Air Intake |
K&N's 63-9037 cold air intake system is designed to be easily installed with a few simple tools and a little time. The 63-9037 air intake system comes with all of the required components needed to bolt on an additional estimated 8.6 horsepower at 5100 RPM and 8.5 ft-lb or torque at 3700 RPM to this bad boy without modification to the body or engine bay.
Cold air intake 63-9037 comes with an aerodynamic air intake tube that is engineered specifically for the Toyota Tacoma V6's computer and mass air sensor setup so the stock mass air sensor can be transferred without hassle or the need to reprogram the computer. The other main components include the K&N RF-1042XD high flow air filter and a powder coated heat shield. The heat shield is designed to help keep the nice outside cold air that helps the engine perform from being heat soaked by the hot under hood temperatures. In addition, the air intake system also comes with application specific brackets, crank case vent hose and fitting, as well as all of the hoses, hose clamps and hardware needed to install.
The major benefit of the K&N reusable air filter is that it's designed with K&N's highly efficient oiled cotton media, meaning that this air filter will do the job that is needed to protect your engine from harmful dust in the air. Due to the design of the RF-1042XD air filter, drivers can go up to 100,000 miles between cleaning, depending on driving conditions. To clean the RF-1042XD air filter just follow the 4 easy cleaning steps or watch the cleaning video. If you dive in dustier than normal conditions and find that you need to clean the air filter more often, then K&N also offers the RF-1042DK (black), the RF-1042DL (blue), the RF-1042DY (yellow) and the RF-1042DR (red) air filter wraps. These wraps will extend the filter's service life while adding little additional restriction.
In addition to the high quality and long lasting components, the K&N 63-9037 cold air intake system is backed by K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty, meaning that your intake should last for the life of your vehicle.
2011 and 2012 Dodge Charger and Challenger and Chrysler 300 Get Performance with K&N Cold Air Intake
K&N Cold Air Intake for Dodge Charger/Challenger and Chrysler 300 |
The 2011 model offers excellent engine packages. One option in particular is the base model package that comes with fuel efficient, yet powerful, 3.6L V6 that pushes out around 290 horsepower and achieves an average of 27 miles per gallon.
During the muscle car era it was all about going faster with what was available to you. Many gear heads had to find new ways to make a few extra horsepower. While today the goal remains the same, there are more options available to car enthusiasts. One modification many consider a fairly affordable way to increase performance is by replacing the factory intake system with an aftermarket replacement. If this is something you may be interested in, K&N, the world leader in air filtration technology, has you covered.
K&N cold air intake 69-2544TP was developed specifically for the 2011-2012 Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, and Chrysler 300 with the 3.6L engine. This Typhoon cold air intake system comes equipped with all the necessary components required to help your engine breath better. This intake system includes a K&N high flow air filter, an intake pipe with a chrome like finish, a heat shield, and a hardware package with detailed installation instructions.
Every K&N cold air intake system, including 69-2544TP, is tested to fit and function properly on specified applications. Of course power testing is important with any air intake design. First a test is run to show the rear wheel horsepower of a completely factory 2011 Charger with a 3.6L. A second test is run with the same vehicle after installing the intake. After lengthy testing the 69-2544TP cold air intake showed an estimated 7.92 horsepower gain on the K&N in-house dyno.
If you are looking for a quality product that will last you a lifetime, 69-2544TP is definitely something you should consider. This intake system comes backed by the famous K&N Million Mile Limited Warranty. The K&N air filter is washable and reusable but you won't need to do that for up to 100,000 miles depending on driving conditions. This system allows air to flow into your engine with little restriction for more performance while protecting your engine from harmful contaminants.
2008 Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky 2.0L Get Additional 10+ HP with K&N Cold Air Intake
Pontiac Solstice 2.0L Turbo with K&N Cold Air Intake |
K&N has released a newly engineered Typhoon Cold Air Intake System (69-8433TTK) for the 2008 Pontiac Solstice 2.0L Turbo to boost its already impressive performance. This cold air intake also fits the 2008 Saturn Sky with 2.0 liter engine. This intake has a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube with a black powder coated finish. This K&N cold air intake systems replace your vehicle's restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing, replacing it with a precisely designed intake and filter assembly for outstanding performance and a great horsepower gain. As in all K&N cold air intakes, the new 69-8433TTK is designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction resulting in additional power and torque.
The 69-8433TK cold air intake system redirects the intake filter to deep along the passenger side of the engine compartment allowing it to draw in cooler air for better performance. By isolating the filter, fresher, outside air can enter your air filter resulting in more power.
K&N cold air intake 69-8433TTK is specially designed to increase horsepower in the 2008 Pontiac Solstice and the 2008 Saturn Sky with 2.0 liter engines while providing outstanding engine protection. Dyno testing for the Pontiac Solstice revealed an additional gain of 10.98 HP @ 4900 RPM.
Installing a power gaining air intake system on your Pontiac Solstice is much easier than many would think. A typical installation takes less than 90 minutes and requires common hand tools, and K&N provides detailed installation instructions which make adding more horsepower quick and simple.

Honda Civic Si with AEM Cold Air Intake |
One available power adding option is to add an AEM cold air intake. AEM's 21-716P and 21-716C cold air intake systems fit 2012 and 2013 Honda Civic Si and 2013 Acura ILX models with 2.4 liter engines. These cold air intake systems are designed to increase horsepower and performance while giving your Civic Si or Acura ILX a more customized performance-based look. These cold air intakes come in two different finishes. The 21-716P intake has a vacuum metalized "mirror type" finish and the 21-716C intake has a gunmetal gray powder-coated finish. Both tube finishes are durable to keep that great look for the life of the vehicle. Once the 21-716P or the 21-716C cold air intake system is installed, you can experience an estimated gain of 8 horsepower at 7000 RPM and 8 feet-pounds of torque at 3800 RPM. Along with the power boost the intake gives the Civic Si and Acura ILX a deep intake sound.
Both cold air intake systems come with all of the necessary components needed for installation including a three piece air intake tube, connection hoses, a large AEM Dryflow Synthetic air filter, replacement crank case vent hose, replacement coolant recovery hose and all of the nuts, bolts and hose clamps needed. The upper air intake tube has a welded-on mass air sensor adapter and crank case vent fitting. The mass air sensor adapter and tube have been engineered to keep the stock computer and sensor happy and not set a check engine light. All 3 of the main connection hoses are made from high-quality silicone which is also designed to last for the life of the vehicle.
When it comes to cold air, the 21-716P and 21-716C cold air intake systems have it in the bag. Both air intakes place the AEM high flow air filter down in the front bumper. By placing the air filter out of the heated engine bay cooler outside air can be brought into the engine for added power and torque.
The 21-716P and 21-716C cold air intake systems come with AEM's 21-203DOSK Dryflow synthetic air filter. AEM Dryflow air filters have a low restriction design that provides great engine protection and a long service life. When it is time to clean the air filter, use AEM synthetic air filter cleaner. It is designed to help loosen and dissolve air filter dirt and road grime so it can be easily and quickly rinsed away with water. Once the air filter is dry, it can be reinstalled. Unlike other washable and reusable air filters, AEM Dryflow air filters do not use oil, so there is no chance of over-oiling your filter thus taking the guesswork out of servicing your AEM air filter.
Due to the design and high quality components, this air intake system and air filter will be the last air intake you will need as it is backed by AEM's Lifetime Limited Warranty.
AEM's 21-716P and 21-716C cold air intake systems will fit the following:
2013 HONDA CIVIC SI 2.4L

Charlie Wong Turns to AEM's Subaru Impreza WRX Cold Air Intake and Strut Bar for His Custom Ride
Subaru Impreza WRX with AEM cold air intake |
Charlie Wong purchased a 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX in December of 2012. At the time of purchase, the vehicle fit all of the requirements Wong wanted in a car; all-wheel-drive, four-door, and a factory turbo. However, looking at the car enthusiasts' track record, change was soon on its way.
It didn't take long for Wong to grow restless. Within a month, he had embarked upon his next project. Because he had used AEM cold air intakes in the past, and experienced the quality of AEM products, little thought had to go into what modifications needed to be made. A cold air intake system would boost the engine's performance, and an AEM strut tower bar would prove useful during high speed turns.
In reference to the modification to the car's suspension, Charlie Wong said, "This is my first time to own an AEM strutbar. I plan on taking the car and entering a couple of track events later down the line," he continued. "So a strut bar was definitely going to to be purchased. It improves the front of the vehicle under turn-ins and makes the car feel more solid."
Although AEM's Subaru Impreza WRX strut bar was an obvious choice for Wong, it was equally as important to make changes that would increase the performance of his engine.
Knowing first hand how well AEM cold air intakes perform, there was no need to look any farther. The AEM Subaru Impreza WRX cold air intake system was proven and easily accessible. It was dyno tested and shows an estimated gain of 36 horsepower.
"The price was right, and AEM has always been known for their quality intakes," shared Charlie Wong. I had AEM cold air intakes on my two previous cars and couldn't have been happier with their performance."
According to the vehicle owner, with the addition of the AEM cold air intake came some noticeable differences. He mentioned there was a noticeable increase in throttle response.
These benefits alone would have been more than enough to deem the performance modification a success, but Wong mentioned another benefit that was the icing on the cake - a noticeable difference at the gas pumps. "It seemed to have improved fuel economy," he shared. "So that was an added bonus." Charlie Wong is satisfied with his recent AEM modifications and the new found performance of his vehicle. However, as do many who are accustomed to turning their own wrenches, he is always excited to embark upon another project.
Charlie Wong has plans that will take fruition a little farther down the road. And as one might suspect, AEM will play a role in his plans for improvements.
When asked if he had intentions of modifying the next vehicle he purchases, Wong said, "Definitely. . .Without a doubt I would. Judging from his satisfaction with his AEM cold air intakes and strut bar, one would suspect that they'll be a sure fit for his next project. In reference to the benefits of AEM cold air intakes and strutbars, he shared, "They increased performance and livened up the car. AEM products are one of the best bangs for the buck and are very well made."
